I won't be posting for awhile...

I was taking care of my aging mother and she passed on the 19th, since I have been very busy making sure everything would be as her last wishes... I have tons of arrangements and appointments to take care of...
I'll be back as soon as possible.

Home made raddle and warping board

The raddle and warping board been taking longer than expected as between birthdays, seedlings and taking care of mom...at last it's finished
here is my home made raddle 32" wide

and here is my larger warping board...

now weaving some red placemats, it is cherry red but with the flash it does look pink, I can't really know  how it's gonna turn out until they are off the loom and washed... it's Huck and I'm using 100% cotton of course washing and drying will make the fabric denser with the shrinkage.  This is my new project this week I'll see how it goes.

I'm working on it!!!

I need a new larger warping board... so it's been a week of shopping for the right wood and finding the right plan at
http://www.inthewoodshop.org/images/stories/woodshop/warping/3.jpg  and starting cutting... not finished yet... but I'm still working on it.

In the mean time some 2 lbs cotton is waiting.

I've started some seedling and making my own starter pots.
Recycling the toilet paper cardboard roll...
and now hoping the weather will collaborate for the planting time.
I need more hours to my days...

Using leftovers...

I don't like to waste hand spun yarns so I was weaving my heart away, it's superwash merino I'm not a big fan of superwash...I don't like to knit it and weaving it made lots of dust bunnies under my loom... when my brother saw it he claimed it right away, so it should be his scarf  birthday gift.

and this one will turn into a mini bag/blanket for a tablet...it was some lonely mohair bouclĂ©, it turned out quite nice squishy soft, it's always good to see stashed yarn into finished articles.
Better uses than sitting sadly in the leftovers basket.  These were my projects this week.
Time to go back to the drawing table for more inspiration.

This week improvising...

I offered to knit something to a friend, a winter hat was the chosen item. I looked around for a pattern but couldn't find a hat with a folded brim large enough to cover the ears by a double layer when it's cold and windy and unfolded when it's not as cold... The plan was to use some of my Pickwickflock stash, the yarn is beautiful by itself so I didn't want an over crowded motif... so I decided to only knit twins narrow cables... there my idea becomes a project,
it went fast... really fast.

not bad for an improvised hat...
I even got the time to wash it
Today it was ready to go to it's owner.

Armed with needles...

This is week I was still fighting the flu bug armed with needles, here is the result.
Not too bad as it was done while I was under the fever effects.
This was fun and fast project and a free pattern on Ravelry.
Since I opted for a rolled rim I thought adding 5 rows making sure it would be deep enough for my big brain or what's left of it... lol
I like the way it turned out.
Few glass beads and voilĂ !!! Owl hat is born pain free.
Here is the link to the pattern.

Standing on my own snow bank... this is the view I got today...
Welcome spring time!!!
